One of the few Argonian hubbies out there, Derkeethus can be found at Darkwater Crossing, a mining camp south of Windhelm, at the end of the river that flows past Fort Amol. She can be found in Jorrvaskr in Whiterun. Once you complete the quest Dragon Rising (as part of the main questline), head back to the Jarl of Whiterun and he makes you Thane and gives you Lydia as a personal housecarl.
